I congratulate you on the main chess holiday of our country – the 15th International Chess Cup Moscow Open 2019, which will be held from January 24 to February 4 at the Russian State Social University.

The RSSU will unite motivated, intellectual, creative, open-minded audience, which forms the intellectual elite of our society. Our countries need your proactive approach, up-to-date knowledge and fresh perspectives on today’s problems, and the competition is a good opportunity to present yourselves. We expect that participation in Moscow Open will help you in your work, in social and volunteer activities, and will lead you to success.

In 15 year, the festival has become the major chess event in Russia, and one of the biggest events in Europe. In 2019 Moscow Open will host 8 tournaments, which will be attended by all categories of chess players, from children to veterans, and from amateurs to world chess champions.

In addition to the official program, important innovations such as online chess tournament, international conference “Chess in the education system of Russia and the world” and extended complementary program will be offered to the participants. The organizers of the event strive to make every day of the Chess Cup program unique and interesting for different categories of participants and spectators.

The 15th Moscow Open festival will be held on a new level of quality and comfort for players and spectators of all categories and ages. Tournaments will take place in modern classrooms, and the main chess games will be played in the reconstructed assembly hall of the RSSU main building. Viewers and fans will be able to watch and comment on the chess games of the leaders online. After a hard day’s competition, participants will have a possibility to recover their energy and to take break from playing on the territory of VDNKh, where one can get directly from the territory of the RSSU.
